Virginia Lung
Print and Digital Designs
Virginia Lung is a health clinic based in Mechanicsville, Virginia. They offer services mainly in lung health—focusing on prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The clinic needed some marketing done for both several things: mail, socials, a letterhead and an event. They are a new clinic and they wanted to build their online presence, build their brand and ultimately increase the number of patients in their clinic. When creating all my designs, I focused on who they are and what they offer.
This project was done while working with VDS Digital Agency. They handled the marketing, SEO and copywriting.

Design Process
When creating Vanessa's logo my initial concepts were surrounding her history of advocating for climate solutions and her position as a candidate who will have this as part of her plan to help El Cerrito. Out of all the candidates in this small race, Vanessa's history in climate advocacy makes her stand out. I wanted to capture this in a simple way for her logo and branding identity. I had either leaves, a wave and then a check mark typography treatment in her name. The typography treatment is the concept we landed on in the finalization stage as it best combines her essence with her environmental advocacy. We decided that having just her name with 'for El Cerrito' is more simple and snappier versus her first and last name.

When creating Vanessa's website, I started off creating low fidelity wireframes in Figma. These were sort of my blue-print on the layout of her site. The overall goal was to create a simple one page scrolling website that has different sections containing information about who Vanessa is, what her platform is and a way for her supporters to donate or volunteer to her campaign. The site needed to be easy to navigate as well which is why I turned the links in the navigation into anchor links so that when you click on a link it takes you right to that section. After creating these wireframes and speaking more with Vanessa about her goals with this site I began designing it in Squarespace.
